En Route Movement was founded in 2007 by Jenn Marie Maynard-Earle. Wanting to carve out a studio that is true to the intentions of Joseph Pilates repertoire, and the expansiveness of the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods, she followed her heart in creating a truly unique studio that provides a most genuine movement experience. Jenn Marie completed the full STOTT certification program and began teaching Pilates at the age of 17. After years of teaching and studying around the country she went on to graduate from the Pilates Center of Boulder, immediately following, she went on to study the GYROTONIC® method. As a native to Utah and Kauai, she participated competitively in alpine sports and surfing. After her fair share of hard falls, Jenn Marie found her relief and well being studying and teaching both of these methods to balance what had been a very rigorous relationship to fitness. Welcoming, inviting, honest, humble and truthful were the inspiring qualities for her as she kept the studio alive and thriving for 7 years.
But as life often changes, in 2014 Jenn Marie decided that it was time for her to leave Salt Lake City and replant herself in Nashville, Tennessee. Unexpectedly, it was during the bittersweet preparation of the studio closing that Jenn Marie received a phone call from Bre.
Breanna Dumke Helfrich, known as Bre, shares the same deep love for Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method that Jenn Marie cultivated at En Route Movement. Having survived a mountaineering accident in 2010 that almost ended her joy of life and all movement, it was Pilates that took her rehabilitation beyond her expectations. Upon completion of her M.S. in Health and Exercise Science at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, she moved to Denver to further study Pilates. Bre graduated from the comprehensive Pilates training through Balanced Body at Park Meadows Pilates and Physical Therapy. To date, Bre has taught Pilates at several studios in Colorado, South Dakota and now Utah. To broaden her teaching scope and further her own personal rehabilitation, Bre recently completed training in the GYROTONIC® expansion method and is now a Certified Level 1 & 2 Instructor and is also trained to teach on all accessory equipment; the Archway, Gyrotoner, Jumping-Stretching Board, and Leg Extension Unit. Forever grateful to those who have helped her along her teaching and healing journey, her teaching is infused with a deep sense of patience, curiosity, joy, respect and gratitude.
Bonded through their mutual adoration of Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method and all too many similar threads of their own life stories, 2014 brought an opportunity for both Jenn Marie and Bre that both are undeniably excited to pursue.
It is with deep gratitude that both Jenn Marie and Bre are pleased to have En Route Movement continue in Salt Lake City while also expanding to Nashville. Both women delight in teaching clients about their bodies through Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method. They strive to instill confidence, joy and exploration in every client they teach. Similarly, they both provide the detail and depth of each exercise to truly facilitate remarkable changes in their clients.
As our studio continues to expand and grow, we are pleased to also have Portia Snow, Laura Blakely, Ceriah Tedjamulia, Arolyn Gaj, and Willow Toso as our community of talented teachers here at En Route Movement! All of our teachers have a deep understanding of human movement interwoven with their own unique perspectives with this work. Please check back as individual teacher bios are coming soon.
